Operational Effectiveness

In the early 1960's, Bruce D. Henderson and the Boston Consulting Group developed the theory of the Experience Curve, which argues that each time, the cumulative volume of a product or service doubles, value added costs (including administration, marketing, distribution, and manufacturing) fall by a constant percentage.  Simply put, the more often we complete a task, and do it correctly, the faster more efficient we become at completing the task.

Consider all of the business functions in your company, which are done with a high degree of frequency; inbound logistics, outbound logistics, manufacturing or production, sales and marketing functions, and service functions, etc.  

In this course, the two key variables you will analyze are the frequency in which a task is performed and the quality of the deliverable.  Although this course is not designed to certify you as a Sig-Sigma Black Belt, you will get the Six-Sigma tools and methodology to analyze your processes.

Mergers | Acquisitions | Rollups

Offering an intensive introduction to the complex world of M&A, this course will provide an invaluable foundation in strategy, regulation, finding a deal, company valuation, and more.

You will learn about buyer strategies, how M&A can increase business value, and how to start the acquisition process, as well as identify successful acquisitions.

Rollups are a type of merger that takes place with small businesses to battle commoditization in a highly fragmented market.  If your industry structure has a high number of competitors, without a few dominant players, the industry segment is considered to be fragmented.  Generally speaking, due to little differentiation between competitors, the product and service offerings in these industries become commoditized.  They compete on price alone!  In these instances, it becomes a race to the bottom and nobody wins.  A rollup is an effective way to begin to turn the tide through consolidation of competitors as the sum of the two companies can be greater than the individual parts.

In this workshop, you will learn how to analyze your industry and begin to identify growth opportunities through M&A.
